The revitalization of river road
This project called for a proposed intervention to help revitalize the River road corridor area of northern eugene, oregon. Due to the specific needs and desires of the River Road and Santa Clara areas, my design proposes that the site of the Messiah Lutheran Church and School would be an ideal location for implementing new community resources and programs. Currently, the church’s yard is an overgrown, mostly barren lot that has ample room for development. My proposed intervention for the community is to have access to resources such as a community garden and orchard, while hosting community gardening workshops to supply residents with better food education, as well as provide a place for community gathering, especially for those who attend this church but also for the general community alike. This project was briefed and presented to the Lane County Transit District offices to help with their work to revamp the area of subject.
